A fun and heartwarming festival is held in Sydney on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
For an interview about the Festival and cats, I “caught up” with Courtney Meyer, one of the Festival organisers, a cat lady and a mum to former stray cat Daisy.
What is the Super Furry Festival about? Who is it for?
The Super Furry Festival is about bringing together animal lovers for a day with their furry friends for a day of fun. It is also about raising awareness for animals in need of adoption.
It is for all pet owners, people that love animals, people that want to adopt a fur baby, people that want to connect with other people and share their love of their fur babies.
How did you come up with the idea? Did it take long from an idea to reality?
Jess and I met over Facebook. We discovered that we had a shared love of animals and wanted to use our creative skills Jess in Events and Courtney in fashion branding and business as we wanted to create a project that would be fun and engaging that would bring awareness and make a difference to animals in need of adoption.
How will the Festival help rescues and rescue pets?
It helps support shelter organisations by creating engaging and fun ways for people to connect with them in a approachable fun environment. You can start the process of adoption, foster caring or even donating on the day.
I see gorgeous cat mums on the team. Tell about your cats.
Out fur babies and literally the cutest little things in the world. Jess and Courtney both had cats that were rescued.
If somebody want to become a cat parent, what would you advise them?
You will start to talk about your cat at every opportunity you can to anyone that will listen. They get funnier and cuter and better with age. A cat will change your life for the better.
Anything else that you would like to mention?
Come say hi to us at the festival.
