Newborn Melbourne Zoo’s Baby Elephant – Congratulations from Australian Cats!
Melbourne Zoo is celebrating the birth of a baby elephant (130kg!). A baby boy was born just days after the Zoo lost Sanook, another elephant baby, in an accident. Sanook choked while playing with a toy tyre. The birth of a baby elephant raised the spirits of zoo keepers and zoo visitors.
The proud mummy elephant’s name is Dokkoon. Everybody will have a chance to vote on the newborn elephant’s name. Somebody already suggested to name him after Nelson Mandela.
Even an elephant is not a cat, Congratulations from our family of Australian cats and cat lovers!
