A Tokyo-based catering company started selling lunch in cat-shaped lunch boxes. Cat lovers visiting and living in Japan can now enjoy yummy food in a very cute cat-shaped bento box. Doesn’t food taste better when served in a cute way?
Founded in 1987, Oriental Foods Co. has been offering bento box lunch services to businesses. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, they decided to make a lunch box for general public.
A cat lover with three rescue cats at home, the company’s director suggested, “How about a cat lunch box?”
With lots of cat illustrated lunch boxes out there, the team wanted to do something special. After production trials, a cat-shaped lunch box was born.
Three cat bento boxes are sold as “Fuku-Neko Bento”. The box lids are designed after three rescue cats of the company’s director – Miyabi (girl), Runmaru (boy), and Sakura (girl).
Each cat lunch box has two tiers with specially prepared contents that will change every season.
Once you ate the yummy food, you can use the cat-shaped container to make gelatine cat figurines or use it as a keepsake and a storage box for various foods or small bits and pieces.
