It’s not something you expect to see on a sunny day when your child is peacefully playing in a front yard.
Roger Triantafilo shared a video of his family cat saving his son from a dog attack in Bakersfield, California.
Jeremy, a 4-year old boy with mild autism, is playing on his bicycle in the driveway, when a neighbour’s dog runs out, looks under the car near the kid, and runs towards Jeremy.
A second later the young dog aggressively attacks the child biting Jeremy’s leg.
The next second a tiny family cat Tara, who has been a family cat since 2008, runs to save her little friend. The cat chases the dog and then returns to check how the child is.
“Tara is my hero,” said Jeremy later.
Luckily the child is fine (although with a few stitches), the cat is fine too.
(Warning: The last few seconds in the video show stitches.)
According to 23ABC the dog is currently at the Bakersfield Animal Care Center for a 10 days quarantine and will be then euthanized. The dog escaped from the neighbour’s gated driveway when his owner was pulling out the car. The dog’s owner called 911 after the dog’s attack.
Thanks god cats exist! Love and respect your cat, one day your kitty can save your or your family member’s life! Always check what your dog is doing. It’s not fun when such things happen, neither for you, nor for others.
