Ozzi Cat asked Janine, who shared a lovely story about a gorgeous special cat, a deaf kitten Tinkerbell about any special tips on how to make a deaf cat’s life more comfortable so more people know that special cats are as sweet as any other cats, and would be more comfortable adopting them.
Janine was very kind to share her personal experience on caring after a deaf kitten. Thank you so much Janelle!
Janine writes:
I think from memory that our little Tinkerbell followed Mum everywhere and was always watching what we were doing. When Mum went out during the day she used to crawl under the bedspread and sleep there until Mum would come and get her.
We learnt not to approach her from behind but walk beside her and let her see us before we picked her up. I am certain her sense of smell was so much better to make up for being deaf, so she knew we were near.
Because she was so very special and spoilt she was never without someone cuddling her.
I do hope this story will make people aware that deaf kitties can be loved as well.
