Geelong Animal Welfare Society Family Day

G Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) (Geelong, Victoria) hosts a Family Day on Sunday April 15th, 2012.
GAWS is the third largest animal shelter in Victoria after RSPCA and Lost Dogs Home. It’s capacity is 200 “unwanted” or stray dogs and cats.
The aim of the Family Day at GAWS is to:
- Raise awareness about GAWS in the Geelong community
- Raise funds to help give animals a second chance
- Provide the opportunity for community members to adopt a kitten or puppy
GAWS Family Day Activities
- Bring the children along to meet Humphrey Bear and Waggles the Dog.
- Have their faces painted while they watch the children’s Circus or a Magician.
- Plenty of give aways for the adults too.
- Tours of the pound facility.
Event: Geelong Animal Welfare Society Family Day
Family Day will be held from 10am till 3pm.
Entry is by a gold coin donation.

Ozzi Cat Volunteers on GAWS Family Day
Ozzi Cat Team is excited about the opportunity to volunteer at GAWS Family Day. We are pleased to know that our members were selected for this valuable job!
Volunteers will help GAWS team on the day in various roles, such as staffing stalls, handing out leaflets, assist staff and current volunteers with animal related tasks, chatting to visitors and connecting people to animals for adoption.
