Unique cat experience for Australian cats: SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium launches the world’s first cat friendly aquarium.
Cat cafes are on the rise in the world and in Australia, but SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium decided to take a step further and to launch a new experience not only for cat lovers, but for cat parents – the world’s first Cat Aquarium and Kitty Snorkel Experience. (Read a special note at the end of this post.)
Cats love watching fish and from today they are more than welcome to visit SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium.
Kitties, and their human parents, can stroll through the exhibits enjoying a variety of fish. Brave ones can have a Kitty Snorkel Experience in a specially designed cat tank. The Kitty Snorkel Experience is promised to be the top cat experience in 2015.
Marine Biologists at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and Dr Kim Kendall, a Cat Vet from Sydney, helped to design the Kitty Snorkel Experience. Cats can follow the fish while swimming in a special glass pool located within the biggest Great Barrier Reef tank. Special lifejackets designed by the Aquarium will keep cats warm and safe. Kitty Snorkel Experience opens for cats on April 1st.
Steve Hinks, the General Manager at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, says they decided to remove the strict no-cat policy in order to provide an additional experience for cats who were dreaming of swimming with fish.
“Seeing fish swim stimulates cats and can send them into a euphoric trance. I expect demand for the Cat Aquarium and the Kitty Snorkel Experience will be extremely high,” says Dr Kim Kendall.
On April 3rd, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium opens its Octonauts Zone which will not only feature new aquatic animals and 3D talking Octonauts crew members, but will have a resting area for cats who took a part in the snorkel adventure, so the kitties can dry off and relax. A cat star Kwazii Kitten from the hit TV show “The Octonauts” will be one of the hero cast members on show in the Octonauts Zone.
The SEA LIFE Sydney Cat Aquarium opens on April 1st and welcomes cats and their owners to enjoy the aquarium together.
Happy April Fools’ Day!
